Bout To Open Some Fucking Windows – DALY CITY FREE DOWNLOAD!! by Elfkowitz

Elfkowitz, better known as Ian Lefkowitz, is a Michigan native, producing music for over 7 years. At the age of 13, he started working in Detroit-based FBT studios with Grammy winning producers, The Bass Brothers (Eminem). Starting as a new age rock and hip hop producer, he has learned what it takes to successfully produce music. Through high school Ian continued to produce mostly hip-hop. Graduating from high-school in 2008, he proceeded to peruse music at Columbia College in Chicago. Becoming inspired by his short stay at Columbia, he moved back to Detroit to begin producing electronic music with long time friend, Freddy Todd. Ian jumped from genre to genre, slowly finding his true passion: bass. In 2009, Ian moved back to Chicago, and using his continually-expanding network, has become a regular act on the Chicago scene. Now, his career has allowed him to play with such artists as Alex B, Marty Party, Murphy (STS9), Ghost Stepper (Lotus) and practically everyone in-between. Using these experiences, he’s now diving head first into the scene.

Far East Movement – Like a G6 (Mochipet Remix)
more on the Far East Movement: Far*East Movement (abbreviated FM) is an electro/hop quartet based in Los Angeles, California, created in 2006. Members Kev Nish (Chinese/Japanese American), Prohgress (Korean American), J-Splif (Korean American), and DJ Virman (Filipino American) represent different generations of Korean, Chinese, and Filipino ancestry within the Asian American community.[1] They put together the first multicultural live music event in Koreatown, Los Angeles to benefit a drug rehabilitation center in the community called “Movementality”.[2] FM’s first claim to fame was their song “Round Round” featured in the Hollywood blockbuster, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and its subsequent soundtrack, video game and DVD. Since “Round Round”, they’ve been featured on various network shows including CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, HBO’s hit show Entourage, Gossip Girl, and Finishing the Game (a featured film at Sundance 2007).[3] They were invited to perform on Power 106’s Powerhouse 2009, one of the biggest Hip-Hop concerts on the west coast, performing with the line-up including Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Sean Paul, New Boyz, Pitbull, Lil Jon, LMFAO, Ya Boy, Flo Rida, and The Black Eyed Peas. Sound Became Color New Release!

Download on: iTunes | Addictech | Amazon | eMusic | Boomkat | Juno

ARTIST: Sound Became Color
TITLE: Gave You Easy—Wallet
LABEL: Daly City Records
CAT-NO: DCR153
FORMAT: Digital
RELEASE DATE: 05-25-2010
Tracklisting
1) Gave You Easy
2) Wallet

Sound Became Color is Daly City Record’s new addition. Band founder Timothy Renato Pizza started this project two years ago and has been eagerly awaiting its release. He calls his new music “Psych-Pop,” a combination of the Psychedelic and Pop musical genres. The music has many faces and seemingly no limits in terms of what types of sounds you may hear.

Sound Became Color is based out of San Francisco. The name originates from Timothy’s attempt to describe hearing in stereo for the first time—being that he was completely deaf in his left ear up until January 2010 at the age of 29. This is when he was given Cochlear’s BP100. With this device Timothy is now able to hear music in ways that seem almost magical. There is a small device mounted to the back of his skull that utilizes bone conduction as his method of hearing. The climatization, as Timothy describes it, is by far the most psychedelic and inspiring sensation that could be offered by this world. The metamorphosis from mono to stereo in the human mind has filled this longtime musician with a new drive to create a musically enjoyable composition of pop music and noise (not to mention all the bird sounds.) If life provides a sound that is deemed relevant to Sound Became Color’s watchful eye, it will be made into music.

Wallet, the B-side of this release, has a catchy percussion line made from an adding machine that would typically be used forinvoicing at an office. Being that Wallet describes issues of greed and ignorance with its lyrics, the adding machine sounds are a nice fit, specifically when accompanied by an electric bass, 808s and Audio Angel’s sexy yet mocking vocals.

This two-song release is a wonderfully rich listen. The music shows that time and experimentation are the common themes, which give Sound Became Color an unexpected air of limitlessness—discover where a song can go in the mind of the listener.
Enjoy.
